Sonam Wangchuk detention hearing rescheduled by Supreme Court to February 9
The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing on Gitanjali J. Angmo's plea against her husband, Sonam Wangchuk's detention under the National Security Act (NSA) to February 9th. Justice Aravind Kumar and Justice PB Varale deferred the matter after arguments from both sides. The Centre argued that Mr. Wangchuk was responsible for violence in Leh last year, while Ms. Angmo claims his detention is illegal and arbitrary. The plea also highlights Mr. Wangchuk's long-standing contributions to Ladakh and India before his arrest.
