Kerala Assembly passes resolution against ‘continuing neglect’ of State by Centre

The Kerala Assembly passed a resolution condemning the Centre's neglect of Kerala, particularly its omission from the Union Budget 2026-27. The resolution demanded an AIIMS, high-speed rail corridor, and other infrastructure projects, citing these as crucial for balanced development. It also criticized the Centre’s reduction in funding for employment guarantee schemes and fiscal policies that restrict Kerala's borrowing space. The opposition, led by V.D. Satheesan, was not informed about the resolution before its adoption.
