Mamata Banerjee to meet CEC Gyanesh Kumar

Banerjee has strongly opposed SIR, citing concerns about its impact on human rights and alleging that it is being weaponized by the BJP for political gain. She plans to brief her party MPs on the matter and will meet with them in Delhi. The Chief Minister has written six letters to Gyanesh Kumar expressing her opposition to SIR and highlighting its negative consequences, including 140 deaths.
