The budget also proposed an integrated East Coast Industrial Corridor with a node at Durgapur in West Bengal. Mamata Banerjee, the Chief Minister of West Bengal, criticized the budget as directionless and lacking provisions for the state's development. She pointed out that the budget did not address the existing infrastructure projects in the state. Abhishek Banerjee, Trinamool Congress general secretary, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the budget ignored West Bengal entirely. Amit Mitra, Principal Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister of West Bengal, also criticized the budget for reducing allocations on education and welfare programs.
