Union Budget 2026: India will continue to move towards Viksit Bharat, says Nirmala Sitharaman as she presents her 9th Budget
Nirmala Sitharaman, India's Finance Minister, presented her record ninth consecutive Union Budget for the fiscal year 2026-2027 in the Lok Sabha on Sunday. The budget was prepared in Kartavya Bhavan and marked a first in independent India's history by being presented on a Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government has focused on structural reforms, fiscal prudence, and monetary stability to achieve a high growth rate of around 7%. The Finance Minister also laid out the 16th Finance Commission report for tax revenue devolution between the Centre and states.
