Centre undermining rural employment rights: Priyank Kharge
Priyank Kharge, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister, criticized the Union government for weakening the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) with the VB-G RAM-G Act. He argued that the new act eroded the scheme's core principles by shifting financial burden on states, while highlighting MGNREGA's success in generating 183 crore man days of employment across 77 lakh villages. Kharge also announced development plans for Kalaburagi district and city, including infrastructure projects and a comprehensive development plan for the city.
