A.P. Irrigation officials set a record by releasing 40 tmcft water to Rayalaseema through Handri-Neeva
Andhra Pradesh's Irrigation department has achieved a record by transferring 40.109 TMCft of water to the Rayalaseema region through the Handri–Neeva project, exceeding its designed capacity for the first time in history. The feat was accomplished within just 190 days and is attributed to improvements made to the project's infrastructure, including widening of canals and construction of the Muchumarri project. Minister Payyavula Keshav, MLA Kalva Srinivasulu, and MLA BC Janardhan Reddy expressed gratitude to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for this achievement, which will benefit farmers across Rayalaseema districts.
