Villagers protest against closure of govt. schools in Sitnoor

Residents of Sitnoor village in Kalaburagi taluk protested against the proposed closure of their local government schools under the Karnataka Public Schools scheme. The protest was organized by the All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO), with parents and students expressing opposition to what they view as an anti-people education policy by the Congress government. AIDSO district vice-president Preeti Doddmani stated that the new scheme will effectively kill other government schools within a 5-km radius of magnet schools. She also criticized both the Congress and BJP, claiming they are united in supporting the magnet school policy despite widespread public opposition.
