Kerala’s first ‘work near home’ facility inaugurated in Kottarakkara

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated Kerala’s first “work near home” project, ‘Commune’, in Kottarakkara. He stated that the initiative will decentralize the IT sector and be replicated across the state with local self-government involvement. The government is also fostering a knowledge economy through K-DISC and investing in infrastructure projects for Kottarakkara, including a drone park, science museum, planetarium, stadium, and regional center for Kerala University. Finance Minister K.N. Balagopal highlighted the project's goal of enhancing local employment opportunities and elevating Kerala into a global skill development hub.
