Opposition, journalist bodies condemn arrest of NTV journalists
BRS and journalist associations in Telangana criticized the detention of NTV journalists late Tuesday night, alleging that the Revanth Reddy-led Congress government was targeting the media and suppressing dissent. The police took three journalists into custody for a controversial program featuring a woman IAS officer and a State Minister. Former Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy, and CPI MLC Nellikanti Satyam condemned the detentions, calling them illegal and unwarranted. The Telangana State Video Journalists Association (TVJA) also expressed strong opposition to the arrests, demanding their immediate release.
