Congress to launch Kaam Maango Abhiyan to mobilise MGNREGA workers

The Congress is launching the "Kaam Maango Abhiyan" campaign to mobilize workers under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The party aims to reach 2.5 lakh gram panchayats and millions of people across the country, urging them to join a nationwide struggle to restore the MGNREGA's core promise of guaranteed employment and rural empowerment. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh has urged people to sign a petition addressed to President Droupadi Murmu, demanding the restoration of the scheme's guarantees and minimum wage. The party also plans to share letters signed by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi with local leaders and workers.
