
Eminent citizens being harassed during SIR, Mamata writes again to CEC
Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, has written a fourth letter to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar alleging that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process is being used for harassment and exclusion of prominent personalities and citizens. She claims these discrepancies are politically motivated and have caused deaths and health issues. The ECI appointed four new special roll observers to oversee the SIR exercise in West Bengal, but a Trinamool Congress delegation raised concerns about the inclusion of ill and elderly citizens and the lack of action for migrant laborers.
