J&K CM to find room for 50 MBBS students left high and dry by Vaishno Devi college

Omar Abdullah, J&K Chief Minister, called for accountability from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Institute of Medical Excellence's office bearers after the National Medical Commission (NCM) withdrew its Letter of Permission, citing non-compliance with minimum standards. The decision followed protests by Hindu groups over the admission of 42 Muslim students to the medical college. Manoj Sinha, the J&K Lieutenant Governor and Chancellor of the university, has been criticized for his role in the situation. The BJP Leader of Opposition, Sharma, commended the NCM for respecting religious sentiments while accusing Abdullah of exploiting the situation for political gain.
