CITU backs February 12 nationwide strike against Labour Codes

The Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) has pledged full support to a nationwide general strike planned by the Joint Platform of Central Trade Unions and All India Sectoral Federations, demanding the repeal of the Labour Codes. This decision was made during the CITU's 18th All India Conference in Visakhapatnam, where delegates adopted resolutions opposing the Labour Codes and calling for the successful conduct of the strike on February 12, 2026. Pambis Kyritsis, general secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions, also expressed solidarity with the Indian working class and their struggles against the anti-worker labour codes.
