On August 09, 2026, H.D. Kumaraswamy and R. Ashok, along with over 1,000 supporters including farmers, launched a padayatra against the Bidadi Township Project from Bairamangala in Bengaluru South district under leadership of JD(S) Youth Wing president Nikhil Kumaraswamy. The BJP plans to debate this project during the upcoming Monsoon Session of the Karnataka Assembly, opposing Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar's initiative.
