PBR updating process moves at sluggish pace in Kerala

The Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB) reported a sluggish pace in updating the People’s Biodiversity Register (PBR), with fewer than 10% of local bodies completing the process.

Only 93 out of 1,034 local bodies (including grama panchayats and municipalities) have submitted the second volume of the PBR. The KSBB is currently undertaking a pilot project to digitize these registers with funding from the National Biodiversity Authority.
