Andhra Pradesh marked the 50th anniversary of the Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976. Since January 2023, 440 people were rescued, but 209 individuals are still awaiting the ₹30,000 financial assistance guaranteed under the Central Sector Scheme for Rehabilitation of Bonded Labourer-2021.
