
PM's appeal leads lawyer Smriti Singh to withdraw complaint against teen protester
Supreme Court lawyer Smriti Singh withdrew her complaint against a 15-year-old girl who had made abusive remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a protest. The FIR, registered on July 29 under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, was filed after eight girls were identified; the Noida teen being first. Singh said she would withdraw her complaint following the PM's appeal for forgiveness and the girl’s apology. Police sources confirmed the zero FIR remained under examination.
