MP Pappu Yadav Attacked with Shoe and Knife at Delhi Press Conference

Bihar's Independent MP Pappu Yadav was attacked with a shoe at a press conference in Delhi today; the attacker, Sumit from Bulandshahr, also carried a knife. Yadav said he received death threats over his protest in saffron robes earlier this week, which had angered sadhus and right-wing supporters. The protest involved a skit on alleged misappropriation of donations to Ayodhya's Ram Temple. Sources indicated Sumit held a grudge over the perceived insult to sadhus during Yadav’s protest.
