Congress seeks disqualification of Agali panchayat president

The Congress has requested the State Election Commission to disqualify its member N.K. Manju, who switched parties and became president of the Agali grama panchayat with LDF support. The party is also considering legal action against Ms. Manju, while she claims she was not given a whip by the Congress. The Congress has also sought an explanation from its councillor Prasobh in Palakkad municipality for his absence during the vice-chairperson election due to illness.
