Mumbai civic polls: Congress and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi seal alliance

Congress and the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) announced a political alliance for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections. The alliance will see the VBA contest 62 seats, while the Congress will contest over 150 seats. Maharashtra Congress president Harshwardhan Sapkal and VBA State vice-president Dhairyavardhan Pundkar made the announcement, stating that the alliance is based on shared ideology rather than electoral considerations. The elections are scheduled for January 15, 2026.
