On August 14, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists shot dead a migrant worker and injured another in Kellam, Kulgam district of South Kashmir. The attack, believed to be orchestrated by the Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of Lashkar-i-Toiba, occurred after sundown as part of efforts to divert attention from unrest in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Security forces have launched a search operation and tightened security across South Kashmir. The injured worker is hospitalized. This marks the first such attack since 2018 and the second targeted killing since July 22, when a policeman was killed along the Amarnath Yatra route.
