Congress positioned India in global stage: Ministers Ponnam, Vivek and Azhar

Congress leaders, including Ministers Vivek Venkat Swamy and Azharuddin, criticized the BJP-led Union government for allegedly weakening the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). They accused the Centre of reneging on its promise to expand the scheme to urban areas, diluting it by imposing a 60:40 funding pattern on States, and removing Mahatma Gandhi's name from the scheme. The leaders called for protests against these actions and urged people to oppose them through demonstrations and resolutions in Gram Sabhas.
