
Delhi government launches 'Lakshmi Yojana': Rs 2,500 monthly for 17 lakh EWS women
On Tuesday, the BJP government in Delhi cleared the 'Delhi Lakshmi Yojana,' offering Rs 2,500 monthly to women from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) with detailed eligibility conditions. Benefiting about 17 lakh women, the scheme requires families' income to be up to Rs 2.50 lakh annually and excludes those with more than three children. Women can invest in RD or FD accounts or use a digital wallet for household expenses, excluding alcohol, tobacco, and gambling. The registration portal launches August 1, with the first instalment released on Raksha Bandhan (August 28).
