Government criticised for turning a blind eye to rampant footpath encroachment, ‘neglect’ of Mysuru’s heritage

BJP leaders in Mysuru have criticized the local government for its handling of civic and heritage issues, citing rampant encroachment on footpaths, unregulated street vending, and a lack of a clear hawking policy. The leaders demanded immediate action to remove illegal encroachments, restore pedestrian access, and conduct civic elections. They also expressed concern over the state of heritage structures in Mysuru, accusing the government of apathy towards protecting the city's legacy. Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner is being called upon to take initiative on these issues.
