
Unnao rape case: Police detain Congress leader, activists protesting near Parliament
Release of a convicted rapist on bail sparks protests and police detention.
Delhi Police detained activist Yogita Bhayana, Congress leader Mumtaz Patel, and several other protesters who were demonstrating near the Parliament complex to oppose the release of Unnao rape convict Kuldeep Singh Sengar on bail. The protesters had gathered around 4 p.m., demanding the cancellation of Sengar's bail granted by the Delhi High Court last week. The police asked them to disperse, and when they refused, the demonstrators were detained.
