Heavy downpour in South Gujarat on Thursday and Friday led District Education Officers of Surat, Tapi, Bharuch, Navsari, Valsad, and Dang to declare holidays. To compensate for lost days, schools must operate during two upcoming public holidays, covering the 120 mandatory working days required by the semester. Schools will inform students about which holidays they choose to use.
