Municipal heads assume office in Kollam
J. Jayalal Unnithan, elected from the Kochalummoodu ward, assumed the role of chairperson for Paravur municipality. He secured 20 out of 32 votes cast, while V.S. Rajeev and Paravur Sajeeb received 6 and 5 votes respectively. In Karunagapally, P. Somarajan (Congress) was elected chairperson with 19 out of 37 votes. Bina Johnson (Congress) was elected vice-chairperson in the same municipality. In Kottarakara, Anitha Gopakumar (CPI(M)) took charge as chairperson with 17 votes.
