Two veteran journalists probe politics and nationalisms over two decades at The Indian Express

Asad Rehman, a journalist with The Indian Express for over eight years, covers politics and religious minorities in India. He previously reported on Uttar Pradesh, including protests against the citizenship law and worker migrations during the pandemic. Before that, he worked as a copy editor at The Indian Express' national desk. Vikas Pathak is deputy associate editor with The Indian Express, focusing on national politics for over 17 years. He has covered elections, interviewed ministers, and taught journalism at various institutions. Pathak authored "Contesting Nationalisms: Hinduism, Secularism and Untouchability in Colonial Punjab" (2018).
