On Tuesday, the Madhya Pradesh government announced an inquiry into complaints about the rehabilitation of families displaced by the Rs 44,605-crore Ken-Betwa Link Project. Umang Singhar, Leader of Opposition, alleged large-scale irregularities in compensation and surveys. Mohan Yadav, Chief Minister, assured investigations within a month for any complaint, while Karan Singh Verma, Revenue Minister, denied any scam but agreed to table survey reports as directed by the Chair. The project aims to irrigate over nine lakh hectares and supply drinking water across Bundelkhand but faces protests due to displacement issues.
