National Conference expels Dr Jaffer Ali Akhoon for six years
On Saturday, the National Conference expelled Dr Jaffer Ali Akhoon, Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil, for six years for securing budget passage with BJP support. The NC refrained from taking action against 12 councillors who supported him. This came amid a campaign by the NC against the BJP-led Centre over restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir.
