On July 21, Mamata Banerjee-led and Ritabrata Banerjee-led factions of the Trinamool Congress will hold rival rallies for Martyrs’ Day in Kolkata. Former ministers and leaders visited Mayo Road to prepare a sombre event without "song and dance." Meanwhile, Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, who merged with NCPI, plans an observance at Rajghat in New Delhi. The Calcutta High Court allowed Banerjee’s rally outside the Birla Planetarium. West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee president Subhankar Sarkar will also address a gathering.
