
Protest Leader Sonam Wangchuk Removed on 21st Day of Fast at Jantar Mantar
On the 21st day of his fast, Sonam Wangchuk, a prominent figure in the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, was forcibly removed from the Jantar Mantar protest site by authorities. As he tried to raise his hand beyond white curtains shielding him, he was quickly taken away in an ambulance. Mr. Wangchuk, 59, has become a symbol of the ongoing youth-led demonstrations demanding greater autonomy for Ladakh since 2023.
