
Artists Arrested for Unauthorized Wangchuk Portraits as He Strikes in Delhi
On Saturday, Guwahati Police arrested Nakul Mili and Gaurav Singh for painting portraits of activist Sonam Wangchuk without permission near Basistha flyover and Jyoti-Bishnu International Art Theatre. The arrests came as Wangchuk was admitted to Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on a hunger strike demanding Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. Police registered a case at Dispur Police Station, with another ongoing investigation for an additional portrait painting incident.
