Andhra Pradesh is on track to become a garbage-free state with the establishment of eight Waste-to-Energy Recycling Plants. The MA&UD Minister Ponguru Narayana announced the new plants, which will convert daily garbage production into electricity and help address flooding concerns in Nellore. Companies like Jindal Urban Infrastructure Limited and Antony Lara Renewable Energy Private Limited will invest ₹350 to ₹400 crore each for the plants' construction. The government has sanctioned funds for canal repairs and alternative housing options for those affected by the anti-encroachment drive.
