At around 7 am on Saturday, Sonam Wangchuk, who had been on an indefinite hunger strike since June 28, was removed from Jantar Mantar by Delhi Police and transferred to hospital under heavy security in compliance with the Delhi High Court's directions. Protesters were unaware initially but later grew agitated, raising slogans against police suppression of democratic dissent. Abhijeet Dipke, founder of Cockroach Janta Party, stepped out during the incident and returned to announce his own hunger strike. Wangchuk was admitted to Safdarjung Hospital in weak condition due to prolonged fasting and dehydration, requiring continuous medical treatment.
