Opposition Leader Alleges Crores in Corruption at Ken-Betwa Link Project Protest Site
Allegations of corruption and irregularities in a large-scale project raise serious concerns.
On July 14, Umang Singhar, Leader of the Opposition in Madhya Pradesh's State Assembly, visited a protest site near Kupi village and alleged corruption worth crores in compensation distribution for the ₹44,000-crore Ken-Betwa link project. Villagers from Panna and Chhatarpur districts have protested since April against the project’s impact on their lives and ecology, accusing authorities of irregularities and intimidation. Singhar demanded an independent investigation into these claims.
