IMA Maharashtra to withdraw routine healthcare services for 24 hours starting July 20
Assault on healthcare workers is a serious abuse of power and threat to public health.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Maharashtra State announced a 24-hour withdrawal of routine healthcare services from July 20 to protest the alleged assault on doctors at Dombivli’s Shastrinagar Municipal Hospital by Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Mhatre and his supporters on July 6. The IMA, along with other medical associations, will suspend all routine services but maintain emergency care. Dr Santosh Kulkarni warned of an indefinite agitation if no action is taken against the accused. Mhatre was granted bail on July 14.
