Deputy CM Inspects SRLIP, Criticizes Previous Govt for Cost Hike
On Thursday, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Deputy Chief Minister of the State, emphasized the government's commitment to maximizing Godavari water utilization through irrigation projects while addressing climate change challenges. Along with Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, he inspected the Sita Rama Lift Irrigation Project (SRLIP) in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, directing officials to expedite work and complete the project early. He criticized the previous BRS government for increasing project costs from ₹3,505 crore to nearly ₹24,000 crore through unnecessary redesigns. The current Congress government aims to finish projects initiated by Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy, addressing issues like missing canals and reservoir capacity with a month-long action plan for timely completion.
