Delhi finalizes Rs 2,500 monthly aid for women, eligibility strict

The Delhi government has finalized eligibility criteria for its Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance scheme for women, renamed Delhi Lakshmi Yojana. Eligible women between 21 and 60 years old must reside in Delhi for at least 10 years, belong to a family with an annual income of up to ₹2.5 lakh, be the eldest eligible woman if more than one qualifies, have no criminal record, and not receive any other government financial assistance or own a four-wheeler. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reviewed the scheme's implementation, directing departments to ensure transparent and timely benefit distribution. The rollout is expected around Raksha Bandhan next month.
