The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused the West Bengal government of suppressing peaceful protests by Hindu organizations against alleged violence against their community in Bangladesh. Sudhanshu Trivedi, BJP MP and spokesperson, claimed that the INDIA bloc partners were promoting an ideology of "eradication of Sanatan Dharma" and protecting illegal immigrants. He cited past controversies involving the Trinamool Congress and alleged targeted attacks on Hindus by the government.
