Report abnormal population growth in border areas: Shah to SPs

Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the need for immediate communication of demographic changes in border areas caused by illegal migration, stating that the government is committed to curbing "unnatural demographic growth" with a "ruthless approach." He highlighted the creation of a quadrangular security grid and a demography mission to study the pattern. Shah also announced plans to fence the 1,610-km India-Myanmar border at a cost of ₹31,000 crore, aiming to prevent various threats including infiltration, radicalization, and demographic changes. The meeting with SPs from 119 border districts focused on strengthening border security through an integrated system.
