Surat Receives 20 Inches of Rain Since Monday, 7,600 People Evacuated

Heavy rainfall in Surat and its suburbs, exceeding 20 inches since Monday, caused flooding and disrupted normal life. The Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) evacuated over 7,600 people to safer areas, while the State Emergency Operation Centre deployed NDRF teams for rescue operations. The situation is now under control, with the SMC conducting door-to-door health surveillance and providing food, water, and shelter to affected citizens.
