Prashant Kishor Calls Bankipur By-Poll a 'Referendum' on Bihar BJP
Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraaj Party (JSP), has characterized the upcoming Bankipur by-election as a referendum on the BJP government in the state. The BJP countered that Kishor had failed to secure deposits in the 2025 Assembly elections and was "thoroughly exposed." The TMC MP from Asansol, Shatrughan Sinha, has supported Kishor's candidacy as a "political dhamaka". The by-poll is scheduled for July 30th with results announced on August 3rd.
