BRS asks Congress govt. to withdraw letter given for use of 45 tmc ft for PRLIS, pursue for 90 tmc ft
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) demanded that the Telangana state government withdraw its request for environmental clearance to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) with a reduced water allocation. The BRS, led by former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, criticized the Congress government's actions and alleged it had been working against the interests of Telangana in securing water rights for the project. The party highlighted that despite obtaining clearances from various agencies, the PRLIS was being pursued with a reduced allocation, while the BRS government had consistently opposed temporary shares allocated to both states during the formation of Telangana.
