The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an 'orange' alert for Uttarakhand's Nainital and Bageshwar districts, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall on Friday. The monsoon has brought severe waterlogging and flooding in some areas of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rains have also led to the collapse of a building in Bhavnagar, India, and an electrocution incident in Thane, Maharashtra. The IMD reported that 79% of India is experiencing drought-like conditions due to a deficit in monsoon rainfall, while parts of Mumbai are facing infrastructure challenges due to heavy rains.
