CBI arrested IAS officer Pradeep Kumar, two former bank officials, Shamim Dar and Charanjeet Singh Randhawa, in connection with the alleged misappropriation of Rs 504 crore belonging to eight Haryana government departments. The investigation revealed that Kumar, as Member Secretary of the HSPCB, had a direct nexus with the fraud, facilitating fraudulent transactions through forged or non-existent fixed deposits at IDFC First Bank's Sector 32 branch in Chandigarh. The CBI is investigating the case and has filed chargesheets against 17 individuals, including six bank officials and three Haryana government officials. The agency is committed to bringing all those responsible to justice.
