Uddhav Thackeray seeks disqualification of rebel MPs, says defections part of bigger conspiracy
Allegations of political conspiracy and abuse of power warrant urgent attention.
Uddhav Thackeray, chief of the Shiv Sena (UBT), demanded the immediate disqualification of six MPs who defected to the Eknath Shinde-led camp. Thackeray accused the BJP of exploiting the Ayodhya Ram temple donation issue and labeled it the "Babur Janata Party." He alleged that these defections were part of a larger political conspiracy called "Operation Devendra" aimed at sidelining Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The MPs, who won against candidates of the BJP and Shiv Sena in the 2024 General Election, had submitted a formal representation to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla seeking an opportunity to present their side.
