"They Humiliated Us": MDMK Chief On Quitting DMK Alliance In Tamil Nadu

MDMK, led by Vaiko, ended its nine-year alliance with the DMK's Secular Progressive Alliance in Chennai, citing allegations of the DMK attempting to install an AIADMK government after the recent assembly election. Vaiko praised C Joseph Vijay's leadership and plans to support him in 2029. The MDMK claims the DMK violated their alliance agreement by aligning with "Hindutva communal forces" and that this move undermines the secular-alliance slogan. Despite the split, Vaiko remains committed to Dravidian ideology and will continue his opposition role within the INDIA bloc.
