Kerala SIR: Citing inaccuracies in ASD list, political parties demand extension of SIR schedule

Political parties in Kerala demanded the Election Commission of India (ECI) extend the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) electoral roll, citing inaccuracies and inconsistencies. The parties cited examples of voters incorrectly listed as "untraceable" or "EF Refused," arguing that many have been casting votes for years. They also criticized the inclusion of over 6.49 lakh deceased voters and demanded clarification on the source of this figure. Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) Rathan U. Kelkar urged political parties to assist in identifying untraceable voters and handing over the list to Electoral Registration Officers.
